Ed.gov lists the 7 Things You Need Before You Fill Out the FAFSA:
- Your Federal Student Aid PIN
- Your social security number
- Your driver’s license number
- Your tax records
- Records of your untaxed income
- Records of all your assets (money)
- List of the school(s) you are interested in attending
They remind you that “If you’re a dependent student, you will need this information for your parent(s) as well.”
The 2014-15 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) became available on January 1, 2014. FAFSA allows students to apply for more than $150 billion in grants, loans, and work-study funds. Visit StudentAid.gov/fafsa to learn more.
