Things You Need Before You Fill Out the FAFSA

Ed.gov lists the 7 Things You Need Before You Fill Out the FAFSA:

  1. Your Federal Student Aid PIN
  2. Your social security number
  3. Your driver’s license number
  4. Your tax records
  5. Records of your untaxed income
  6. Records of all your assets (money)
  7. List of the school(s) you are interested in attending

They remind you that “If you’re a dependent student, you will need this information for your parent(s) as well.”

The 2014-15 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) became available on January 1, 2014. FAFSA allows students to apply for more than $150 billion in grants, loans, and work-study funds. Visit StudentAid.gov/fafsa to learn more.
